Safety helmets in NZ must meet AS/NZS 1801. All helmets sold at KiwiWorkGear are tested to this standard for impact and penetration resistance.

How often should a safety helmet be replaced?

Replace safety helmets every 2–5 years, or immediately after any significant impact — even if no visible damage is present. UV exposure and chemical contact also degrade the shell over time.

Are forestry helmets different from standard construction helmets?

Forestry and arborist helmets (like Protos Integral) are designed for chainsaw use and integrate visor and earmuff systems. They typically exceed the requirements of standard industrial helmets.
